Not much stands still in the world of clothing and fashion. Although we don’t religiously follow trends, we do keep our finger on the pulse of men’s clothing brands, changes, new arrivals, and suppliers who emerge and fit the Heaphys style.
Not much stands still in the world of clothing and fashion. Although we don’t religiously follow trends, we do keep our finger on the pulse of men’s clothing brands, changes, new arrivals, and suppliers who emerge and fit the Heaphys style.

We really enjoy it too. Getting out and about to meet the suppliers and seeing, hearing, and feeling the future of their stock and then selecting what we know will be ideal for our Warwick store is a really great experience.

It’s a fast-paced world in most industries and ours is no different.

Recently we headed down to London to meet up with some of our current suppliers and basically have a HUGE shopping trip!

We’ll be honest, although we do this ultimately for our customers… it’s a lot of fun, too!

Here’s what we found and what you can expect in store in Warwick very soon…

We got Leathered in London

The supplier for our leather coats popped into our store in January. Most of our suppliers do this to catch-up, see how we’re doing, and show us what they’ve got coming up in stock.

We were shown some of the autumn/winter range then, and they said if we were ever down in London, we should stop by for a serious look at what’s on offer. So we did!

Brax to the Future

One of the other brands they supply is a trouser brand called Brax. We’re big fans of trying before we buy and really putting them to the test and the buyer knew this. So… they sent us a pair of the best-selling pair of Brax for Kevin to ‘road test’!

The verdict?

Well, after five months of rigorous testing and regular wearing the answer, according to Kevin, was simple:

“They’re the most comfortable summer cotton chinos I’ve ever worn, and they continue to look good and perform really well.”

So, five months after receiving the sample pair we decided to make the trip down to London (a first for the partners) to check out the range for spring/summer 2020.

The showroom was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of London and when part-time city slickers, Paul and Kevin finally found it, it was time to take a tour of the trouser collection.

Casual chinos

Cotton casual chinos of various colours are a really strong part of Brax’s offering and there were plenty on display.

Tempting as they were, the boys decided to opt for a few classic colours to start with.

Playing it safe? Well a little, as this is all about introducing the product to the customer as well as having a feast for our eyes. The products we choose have to suit our customers’ choice as well as the style of our brand.

The boys went for navy, sand, beige, and some in a mid-green colours to begin with, and also a range of Kapok cotton trousers, which have an even softer feel!

Paul and Kevin liked the range so much, that they also chose to trial some denim jeans for summer and some soft pique polo shirts too.

The Brax range is made in Europe. The cloth is sustainably-sourced and the garments are made in good working conditions, which is really important to us. The industry can at times be a dark and unfavourable place, so we aim to choose suppliers who conform to higher standards.

Clean and simple heading to Warwick

Brax offer a very clean simple look which we feel a lot of men are looking for right now. They’re all about the fabric and the fit and Brax give a good alternative to the fabulous Meyer brand in our store.

Deliveries of this new range will be arriving in February to March 2020 so make sure you’re well prepared for spring and summer with a March shopping trip planned in your diary!

Of course, there’s a lot to look at right now so why not pop in and visit us at our Warwick menswear store?

We have loads to choose from, decades of expert advice, and some great additions to your wardrobe ready to try on and take home.
