What to Wear in Summer 2021
It’s now spring time the season of new growth and optimism. The birds are singing and the days are gradually getting lighter and brighter. The UK is in a much better situation than it was this time last year but this summer may not be quite the summer we would expect.
If everything goes according to plan we can have weddings again, go on holiday in the UK at least, socialise with friends and family, eat and drink together and enjoy some live entertainment.

With staying at home doing video calls, men haven’t really needed to buy new clothes for the past 12 months
So, with special occasions and social events back on the cards this summer what should you be wearing?

We’ve put together 3 key areas you should consider freshening up for summer when shops open again on April 12th.

A New Suit

If your old suit doesn’t fit anymore or it’s just, erm…. old, it’s a good time to buy yourself a smart new one. Trying on a new suit again might feel alien to begin with but don’t worry we’re really good at making sure the experience feels painless.

For summer time this year a blue, light grey or natural coloured suit is ideal particularly if you’re looking to attend a wedding. Or alternatively if a new suit is needed for the office it may be best to stick to a navy or dark grey colour as they hide the coffee stains better.

You’ll find plain suits, patterned suits, suits with waistcoats, and suits of different styles and fits to try on at Heaphys

Shirts

A shirt is the most versatile wardrobe item a man could possess. Now there’s a statement you might think. Well, when you think about it a smart shirt can be worn with a suit, a jacket, under a coat, layered under knitwear or just worn on its own – tucked in or untucked (potentially).

Not only that.

The shirt comes in many formats these days… The smart shirt. The casual shirt. The polo shirt. The t-shirt. The over shirt or the half sleeve summer shirt. We can offer a choice of all of these in store and keeping your wardrobe fresh with a few of these this season will help you stay stylish, comfortable and up to date. If you’re heading back to work, need to look smart but haven’t worn a shirt for a long time a good alternative is a long sleeve merino or cotton polo shirt with your trousers.

Trousers

If you’ve been sat at home a lot on various video calls this past year or so you might find things have changed a bit around the waistline area. Don’t worry though, because we can often alter the waist size for you on a smart pair of trousers. But if it’s casual cottons or a good pair of jeans you want to wear you may need to grab some new ones. For summer we have lightweight stretch fabrics in a cool variety of colours from our usual brands like Meyer and Brax.

Want to stroll out of lockdown looking a little more stylish than you might feel? Book yourself a haircut first, at one of Warwick’s excellent Barbers, then have a look at what we’re able to offer at Heaphys from April 12th. Our team will be back and ready to serve you in a bright, fresh, comfortable and safe retail environment.
